second post a week later!

Wow, went to DC Spasmodic Dysphonia group Wed Dec 4th for the 2nd time in 3 years. Here  in DC with Grandchildren so wanted to go. Excellent Dr. and speech therapist spoke. Lots of discussion including about the SLAD-r surgery. Folk were quite interested and judging from a spike the next day, several may have looked up my blog.

People in California
 are still having trouble with their insurance being accepted so we will find out about that for my surgery on about Jan 6 if all goes as planned. It is still nerve wracking but I am reconciling myself to whatever happens. Don't really want to have to make two trips to California as we already plan to be there for the appointed date of Feb 25th as vacationing out there before that.

My sister is in Palo Alto and friends elsewhere so we will use the time. Holiday greetings to all and stay tuned in the new year!

surgery jouney with SD

I am planning to Have SLAD-r surgery for my Spasmodic Dysphonia on February 25th, 2014 if all goes well with UCLA, insurance companies, and travel plans. I am nervous because they can't apply to the insurance companies until Jan 2 but say they should hear by Jan 6. I hope so in order to make accommodation plans, etc. We have plane tickets for then as plan to spend the 2 weeks before on vacation out West anyway!  Just hoping this works so don't have to have another trip - but oh well, We will see. I have done everything I can think of to plan. Will detail the surgery in future blogs or you can ask questions of me anytime. Email is randrstuart@gmail.com.
